Registration Information
There are two ways to register your Optus Prepaid SIM Card:
- Assisted Activation Service provided by SIMCARD.SG
- Self-Activation on Optus Website.
1. Assisted Activation Service
SIMCARD.SG now provides registration services for our customers who purchase the Optus SIM Card.
No passport registration is required for assisted activation service from SIMCARD.SG for SHORT-TERM TOURIST USE ONLY (LESS THAN 30 CALENDAR DAYS).
All activation requests must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance of travel for timely activation.
IMPORTANT: SIMCARD.SG only activates the Prepaid Epic Data Plan and registration service is only provided for customers using for TOURIST and SHORT-TERM use. If you wish to use the SIM Card for long-term (MORE THAN 30 DAYS) or on other Optus prepaid plans, please DO NOT USE OUR ACTIVATION SERVICE.
2. SELF-ACTIVATION
Optus SIM Cards can be activated using NON-AUSTRALIAN PASSPORT WITH VALID AUSTRALIAN VISA after successfully passing through immigration in Australia. You do not need to find an Internet connection to activate the SIM, simply plug in the SIM Card and follow the registration process.
If you have a friend in Australia with Medicare Card or Driver\’s Licence, they will be able to help you to activate prior to your arrival in Australia with their IDs.
